Kelly Pavlik's handlers inched closer to his next fight this week, narrowing the list of possible opponents to four: WBA middleweight champion Felix Sturm, WBC junior middleweight champion Sergio Martinez, former junior middleweight champion Winky Wright and WBO super middleweight champion Karoly Balzsay.
A fight against Balzsay could be at 168 pounds, while the other three would be at the 160-pound middleweight level.
The fight would take place in the fall, with Oct. 3 as the most likely date, and would air on HBO.

i thought he said no more going up in weight
No one wants to see Pavlik fight smaller guys so scratch Martinez off that list... You don't want the negative talk that Taylor got for fighting little guys, unless it is Paul Williams.
Winky Wright just got whooped by Paul Williams and is clearly past his prime and of no stature in the sport anymore, so why fight him?
As for bumping up, we all read Kelly & Jack's comments after the Hopkins disaster and I thought they were adamant that he would not bump up in weight. Heck, Kelly even said about the super middleweight tournament, "I'm a middleweight" not a super middleweight. So the Balzsay fight seems like an odd choice.
That pretty much leaves Sturm. Fight him Kelly, take his middleweight belt and further cement your place in that division's history. Then fight Paul Williams... PLEASE!
I say a rematch with Bernard Hopkins!
