YOUNGSTOWN — Two people reported they were robbed in the parking lot of a Belmont Avenue restaurant about 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
A 49-year-old man from Youngstown and a 24-year-old woman from Lowellville told city police were in the parking lot when three men who were about 16- to 18-years-old appeared and demanded money. One suspect produced a pistol.
The woman turned over about $200, and the man turned over about $30 and several credit cards.
The robbers ran away, and the victims said one of the three fired a shot.
Comments
Yep that's about right.
There was no need to arrest the victims or to confiscate any firearms from them. Robberies go very smooth when the victims cooperate and are not armed. We will be hearing more about these young men in their chosen profession.
TOLERANCE NOT REACTION !

As long as our governments allow felons to perform criminal acts with guns upon society and admonish citizens the legal right to protect themselves we will continue to see an escalation of these crimes against us.
Our police are not crime preventers, they are there to write up the crime and have it reported in prim and proper paperwork, while the felons escape into the wilds of their habitat to be able to do it again at a time and on a victim of their own choosing.
Under our current system, the police protect the criminal (a suspect), not the victim(a complaintant). It is up to the judge to determine fault, responsiblility and outcome.
Is it possible this system is failing us? Or, is it possible there are those in our society who have discovered loopholes in our legal system, which is now putting us all at risk?
Vindyak,
take it from me, the police wish they could do more. Years of lawsuits and hands being tied behind their backs cause the police to be reactive and not proactive.
Which restaurant?
