Home Savings and Loan Co. has hired Matthew Garrity as senior vice president and chief credit officer. He’s had various senior-level positions at National City Corp. over the past 12 years, and most recently served as senior vice president, National City capital markets investment banking. Garrity, a resident of Bay Village, earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from Ohio University.

First National Bank has hired Richard Stevens of Poland as business development officer. Stevens will be responsible for developing business in the bank’s Ohio region. He had been vice president, regional sales manager for Charter One. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Youngstown State University.
