Wedding date set by Lisa Ficke and Brent Barkett

MASON — Greg and Carol Ficke, of Mason, and John and Georgia Barkett, of Boardman, are announcing the engagement of their children, Lisa Ficke and Brent Barkett, both of Cincinnati.

Miss Ficke graduated from the University of Richmond with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, and from the University of Toledo with a doctorate in medicinal and biological chemistry. She is a project leader for Kendle International Inc. in Cincinnati.

Mr. Barkett graduated from the University of Toledo with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He is a sales representative for OhioCAT. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom with commendation.

Invitations will be issued for the wedding the couple have planned for New Year’s Eve at St. Susanna’s Church and for their evening reception at the Manor House Banquet Center, both in Mason.
