COLUMBUS (AP) — Ohio has reached a settlement with two woman whose sexual harassment complaints led to last year’s resignation of former Attorney General Marc Dann.
Cindy Stankoski and Vanessa Stout will each receive $247,500, which includes attorneys fees.
Stankoski and Stout filed sexual harassment claims against a top aide to Dann early last year.
The claims, which led to the firing of aide Anthony Gutierrez, led to the unraveling of Dann’s administration and his own resignation in May.
Dann admitted that he had an extramarital affair with an employee.
Attorney General Richard Cordray, who took office earlier this month, released a joint statement with the women’s attorney Wednesday praising their courage in shedding light on the conduct of the office.

Will the women need any help spending the money?
Just think of what it would have cost taxpayers if they had been UNWILLINGLY "harassed" instead of just being party girls. I guess Marc thought "harass" was two words...
You really are a big hypocrite Heard_it_all_before. It's shallow people like you that scare women from reporting sexual harassment, rapes, and other crimes against women for fear they will be ridiculed instead of applauded for coming forward and speaking up. These two women were very brave and have paid a heavy price for their bravery. In the process their bravery took down a very corrupt politician and his thugs. When you think about it, this settlement is less than the annual salaries of Dann and his cronies, all of whom were not qualified for the jobs they were being paid to do. These women deserved a lot more money because in the long run, they saved the state millions, but I guess shallow minds like yours can't see the forest from the trees.
You must be kidding. It is true that most cases of sexual harassment are valid and women (and everyone) must be protected to a level where they can confidently report criminal acitivity. But you surely cannot be so foolish as to believe that these two are innocent victims of the terrible Marc Dann. The ties and the lifestyle go back YEARS and these women willingly participated in the party lifestyle in Columbus, actually harassing others who WERE innocent. Only when it looked like it could be trouble for them did they suddenly become "courageous" and crawl out from under their rock to sing like birds to save themselves and to make a little money as well. To paint them as heroes is a terrible disservice to the real women you propose to defend. I'm glad Dann and his cronies were brought down, but get real!
I wonder if Dann's father in law will get on the local radio station call in shows to defend Marvelous Mark's criminal behavior and subsequent cost to Ohio tax payers? The perverts who should have to pay this once more screwed the citizens.
This could get pricey at a quarter million per victim. When are the other girls getting their checks?
"Skeptic", your thinking mentality is the EXACT reason why we live in a litigious society; why there needs to be a lawyer to write up and review every piece of paperwork we need to conduct business, why we have blue ribbon committees to oversee other blue ribbon committees. If you think for a moment that these two sleaze bags were innocent and pure as the freshly driven snow, then you must be a lawyer yourself. These party animals played the game of trading sex for job advancement, and are now profitting from it at the taxpayers expense. When its all divvied up the lawyers representing them will get half, and they'll end up with about $120K apiece. What a joke. It would be nice to see the State of Ohio confiscating all of Dann's assets and at least recoup from them, the $500K we taxpayers had to fork out for these two Wh......!
"The ties and the lifestyle go back YEARS and these women willingly participated in the party lifestyle in Columbus"
Marc Dann would support this message.

Marc Dann was a willing participant in his own downfall. If the people of Ohio were only a bit more tolerant Marc would still have a job. Now he may be reduced to a job as a greeter for Walmart when they open in Liberty. Stop by and say hello to Marc if he gets the job.
Isn't this typical Ohio politics? We have supposedly a new ethical Democrat administration and the AG runs his office like a fiefdom and brothel, and the Human Services staff accesses private personal information and releases it to the media and the presidents campaign! The problem is we fail to elect moral ethical folks that aren't biased political hacks. Shame on us!
Vanessa looks as if she has already been out partying on some of her money.
I think Leo Jennings should sue the state of ohio for loss of wages and his job because of the character flaws of Marc Dann.
I agree, what happened should not have occurred. However, these girls were seen partying with Dann's cronies all over Columbus. They took advantage of the situation to help cement their job security within the AG's office and had no problem accepting free dinners and drinks. Then, they wake up from their drunken stupers to find themselves in a very precarious situation at Dann's apartment. This kind of behavior from these two girls directly put themselves into harms way. Don't fool yourselfs, they're hardly innocent bystanders. They're behavior that led up to the whole incident is an embarressement to women's rights everywhere. Don't get me wrong, Dann and his cronies are wrong and guilty, but these two girls don't deserve a dime!
