YOUNGSTOWN — One Youngstown resident received an early birthday gift a bit larger than usual.
Michele Pollock, 56, who will celebrate her birthday at the end of January, was one of two in Ohio to claim a winning ticket for the top prize in the Ohio Lottery New Year’s Raffle game.
Pollock, who lives on the West Side of Youngstown, purchased her $1 million ticket at Dhillon Sun Merchant, 3605 Mahoning Ave. It was claimed in the Ohio Lottery’s Youngstown regional office. After taxes, totalling 31 percent, she will take home a lump sum check for $690,000.
Raul Vega Sotomayor, of Oxford, also filed a claim with the Cincinnati regional office.

So far I have only been able to contribute to the Ohio Lottery and not collect. Glad to se that somone local won some money. If she buys a new car I hope that it is GM.
Hey, maybe she can help bail out the Playhouse.
No, really... congratulations!
Good thing she won before January 20, she would have paid 40% in taxes, or more.

I would imagine that Ohio people routinely win the Ohio Lottery, no? Right on though.
Would you be happier.... or would you just find something else to complain about in your NEW town.. :)
Take your $650K and head to somewhere warmer (climate), and don't look back!!!!!
Hey, I have this new stock that's on the rise. The company's name is "Ponzi" and the CEO is a guy named Madoff.
No really......congrats to her-wish it was me. I hope she doesn't blow it on her long lost "relatives" that seem to have a way of finding people with good fortune.
grump, we'd all be happier.
