YOUNGSTOWN — Members of the Vice Squad arrested Aleze Jamil at the Belmont Drive Thru and charged him with selling alcohol to an underage person. Jamil, 49, of Locust Drive, Boardman, was arraigned today in municipal court and will be back in court Jan. 15 for a pretrial hearing. Police waited while a 19-year-old cooperating witness went through the drive through at 1840 Belmont Ave. Wednesday evening and came out with a 22-ounce bottle of beer. The witness then identified Jamil as the person who made the sale, reports show. Police said Jamil asked no questions prior to selling the beer but did stick his head out the drive-through window to look up and down Belmont.

Geez, kids can't go to the the Belmont Drive Thru or the Cell anymore. What on earth are they going to do????
"Aleze Jamil"
It looks like he will fork over some of the money from his beer sales for a while.
"Jamil, 49, of Locust Drive, Boardman"
He has made enough selling booze for a move to Boardman.
I have gone through that dump maybe 4 or 5 times for a quick pack of smokes on my way to or from work.
Three times that place has tried to short-change me for a buck or more. The last time I thought "you'll get yours one day pal."
I hope he loses his liquor licence!
I like how the Vindy smears Boardman by making it sound like that's where the illegal sale took place. A credible newspaper would have said "North Side Drive Thru Sells Alcohol To Minors" as their headline.
The story also doesn't mention if Jamil owns the store or just works there. Is this selling to underage people a common practice at the store, or is this Jamil on his own?
Come on, Vindy - at least pretend to be professional!!
This may be the same guy I bought beer from in the early/mid '90s while I was in high school. It was certainly the same location.
NoBS-I'm with you on the headline, you are absolutely right.
I agree with "NoBS." I was under the impression the illegal sale took place in Boardman.
NoBS is correct, the anti Boardman philosophy at the Vindy is amazing. North Side drive through would have been the proper headline.
I wasn’t under the delusion that the sale took place in Boardman. The article stated “Belmont Drive Thru” and into the article further stated the 1840 Belmont Ave store address. I haven’t at all noticed any bias against Boardman from the Vindicator. Am I one of a few in Youngstown that feels the Vindicator reports accurately or am I taking crazy pills?
Anyway, the store needs to have its liquor license revoked indefinitely and using / citing congruent past citations as evidence, up the harshness of laws to prosecute those lowlifes who sell to our minor children and relatives. Don’t let it stop here.
A dishonest sell a dishonest buck...You reap what you sow
It's coming down to alcohol is no longer a fun time as people think it just brings more problems and trouble and destroys life.
Precisely why I don't drink anymore.
Hey Askme....sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I do believe you ARE taking crazy pills.
The Vindy (as well as most papers) have a hidden agenda which is precisely why the subscriptions on most newspapers has dramatically decreased. The American public has become more savy and turn to other sources for their news.
Just state the facts and let us make our own opinions thank you very much!
Aleze Jamil....spell it backwards and you get Ezela Limaj...whatever! Sounds like someone I'd get for Customer Service on my new Dell Computer.
Once again, another Boardmanite brings his scumbag business to Youngstown. GTFO. We don't need you.
Youngstown residents are long tired of shady characters doing their shady business in Youngstown while living in the safe confines of the suburbs. Here we have a nice example. Shady business owner operates store in Youngstown that draws underage kids from the suburbs to buy alcohol. I know from first hand experience because I used to drive to Youngstown to buy alcohol when I was in high school in the 90’s. That was during the time when all the mafia losers were screwing up Youngstown then retreating to the safe confines of Canfield and Poland.
FYI youngster, all the "mafia losers" in the 90's were living on the Lower West Side of Youngstown, upper North Side of Youngstown, Brownlee Woods of the South Side of Youngstown, Lower East Side of Youngstown near Oak Street, Hubbard, Campbell, and in Beaver Township; not in Canfield and Poland.
Not by the mid-90's they weren't.
Aw the 80s and 90s. Back when the mafia kept crime under control and the city was prosporous.
I miss those days...........
Geeze reading this guy's name.......could he be Swedish? Scrooge the Mafia knew how to keep things in line, never would this crap be happening today if they were still on top of things, so to speak.
