POLAND — A shop in James A. Traficant Jr.’s hometown is the first to celebrate the ex-congressman’s imminent (maybe) release from federal prison with “Welcome Home Jimbo” T-shirts and sweatshirts.
“We did a couple of dozen at first,” said Tony Trolio, standing in front of a Traficant shirt display Tuesday afternoon at his shop here. “We’ve sold more than 100 since Monday.”

"Welcome home Jimbo" shirts. Why doesn't this surprise me? Why would anyone welcome him home other than his family? Traficant, Philomena, Chance, Dann. What is it about this area? This is the most unenlightened area in the state. Is it any wonder that anyone that gets a college degree never comes back. Would any rationale person start a new business in an area where people get excited about the release of a former congressman who is a convicted felon? If this weren't so sad it would be a joke. Welcome home Jimbo, welcome home indeed.
First of all, if the 'new business' comment was directed towards Trolio's... it is not a 'new' business. They have been around for quite some time.
Secondly, I think it's a great idea for them to make these shirts. It's a great business strategy. It's something that a lot of people will buy for one of 3 reasons -- because it's a keepsake, because it supports Traficiant, and/or because it's comical.
