LISBON — Former Columbiana County Health Commissioner Robert Morehead was sentenced to 60 days today on the charge of theft in office for improper spending at the County Health Department. He is to report March 12 to the Eastern Ohio Correction Facility, Wintersville.
Morehead pleaded guilty in an Alford plea to a fifth-degree felony charge of theft in office December.
In an Alford plea, a defendant maintains his innocence but admits there is evidence that could convict him.
During his sentencing hearing, Morehead blamed much of the problem on sloppy paperwork. His lawyer, James T. Hartford, presented a check to the court to repay $2,022.50 for items he had purchased improperly.
Morehead testified that he was in poor health, and Visiting Judge John R. Milligan told him to have his health checked before reporting to jail.

Here is a new spin "the pot calling the kettle black " , he steals the money , then blames someone else for letting him do it .
What a joke. This guy steals thousands of taxpayer dollars over eight years, it takes thousands of dollars to prosecute him and he gets only 60 days of jail time.
And then has the mindset to blame it on someone else.
TAKE HIS PENSION AWAY and LOCK THE SOB UP!
This judge needs to get some Ba***
