COLUMBUS — Gov. Ted Strickland said that he is awaiting final details of the federal stimulus compromise but likely will have to make cuts to the nearly $55 billion executive budget he unveiled earlier this month.
“I think there will be a shortfall,” he said Thursday. “ I will deal with it ... while continuing to protect education.”
Strickland had included upward of $3 billion in stimulus dollars in his two-year budget proposal, which was formally introduced in the Ohio House Thursday.

Wow two new concepts for Gov Strickland .... 1st he says he will deal with it ... how novel ,2nd there may be a short fall in the stimulus funding ....i said this all along ....the funding will not be coming our way !!!!! It just takes some people a little longer to catch on to things.
Typical - hope the stimulus will bail the Gov out - this year. What would he do if the stimulus package didn't trickle down to the states at all? Might he actually have to figure out how to deal with the limited money he already has?
Novel idea......work with the budget you can afford instead of making a wishlist and taking what he needs from his neighbors' wallet.
