A person in the Spotlight?

Published: Sat, December 26, 2009 @ 12:00 a.m.

1I’m sure you were just as busy. But I trust you and your family had a Merry Christmas and you managed to get on Santa’s nice list again this year. Three issues in, Neighbors is hoping we are on your nice list so far.

You’re certainly on ours, as you continue to respond to our pleas for news. From community club news, to youth sports, to your children’s Christmas plays, you’ve filled our inboxes. It’s great to see you taking ownership of your new community newspaper. Keep up the good work.

One area specifically where you can help us more is with a weekly feature we call ‘Neighbors Spotlight.’ Each Saturday, you’ll read about one of your Boardman neighbors. You’ll learn about who they are and see why they think Boardman is a great town to call home.

Do you know a good neighbor?

Do you want to brag about Boardman?

We’re always looking for people who want to be a part of our Spotlight.

Let us know you’re interested by emailing us at neighbors@vindy.com and we’ll send you the link to our survey. It’s fast and easy and gives you a chance to brag about where you live.

A Boardman poll

Each week in Neighbors, we’ll try to get your measure on life and things. We’ll aim to make it a Page 2 staple, as well as a fixture on boardman.vindy.com.

So here’s our first poll question:

How did the new-and-improved US 224 handle shopping traffic?

1) It was a splendid drive at last.

2) I did not have as much of a headache as before.

3) I cursed just as much as always

4) I did not notice the new lanes.

5) It was worse this year.

This poll can be found halfway down the homepage on boardman.vindy.com. Leave a comment as well.

Thanks for polling!

224 project was a waste of 6 million dollars. ADA curb-cuts that don't connect to sidewalks. Traffic was just as bad.

PS - Throwing your 'Neighbors' paper on our front yards is tantamount to littering. Please stop!! This paper is duplicative of The Review, Boardman News and Town Crier.

Traffic was much improved. The 2 left turn lanes from 224 east to South avenue north really makes it much smoother. Curb cut king Tugboat insinuates the curb cuts cost 6 million. They were but a tiny fraction of that. Curb cuts makes sense anyway since someone might be riding a bike or in a wheelchair crossing traffic.
