SEBRING — An investigation is under way into the deaths of two people found in the basement of a home at 111 West Texas Ave.

The Sebring Police Department notified the coroner’s office.

The Mahoning County Coroner’s Office said this afternoon that Douglas R. Strother, 41, and Tina L. McGarvey, 40, were found Tuesday night in the home's in the basement.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation also is helping in the investigation.

I'm pretty sure the Vindicator will change course tomorrow and report that they were beat to death by a group of people with wooden boards.

Hey guys....Try to remember that 2 people died here. It's great to talk trash about the Vindy but when you post stuff, please remember that sometimes you're talking about someone's dad that they're going to be without for Christmas next week, especially when that someone is my little sister who is on her way to Ohio to make funeral arrangements. And dont mess with deer, they're kamakazes and they hold a grudge......

bethann dont get mad at people for making the deer statements. Maybe it was a hit by our antlered friends. Besides if it were two people in Youngstown nobody would be passing out condolences only statements about thuggery

As someone who works in the Livery business. This is no laughing matter. Lets take a moment and remember the families during this time. This is a sad turn of events. I hope the family can find comfort in knowing these two folks are no longer in any pain, and are resting comfortable in Heaven

Thanks for the support knucles.... Yes, Youngstown is a crappy town but these two were in Sebring and Doug left behind 3 kids (one of whom is my sister so watch it) and a grandson he will never know. And Tina left behind a young daughter so have some empathy here people. Just because the world is going to crap doesn't mean that we have to be crappy too.
