Woman, 61, robbed at gunpoint and shoved to pavement

Published: Mon, December 14, 2009 @ 3:15 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN — Police found a 61-year-old Hartford Avenue woman lying in the street on Oakwood Drive near Hartford just after she had been robbed at gunpoint at 11:45 p.m. Sunday. The woman was bleeding from her knees and was complaining of severe shoulder pain.

The woman told officers she pulled into her driveway and was getting out of the car when a male appearing to be in his late teens came from behind her garage, pointing a gun and demanding money. She said she was scared and just began to walk away from the man — telling him she did not have any money.

The woman said she saw another man, also appearing to be in his late teens, approach her from the front of the house as she tried to walk away. One of the men then snatched the woman’s purse from her shoulder while shoving her to the pavement.

Police, using a police dog, searched the area for the two men, but found only contents from the stolen purse.

The woman was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center for treatment.

This is just THE GHETTO STIMULUS SYNDROME ! They canvass the neighborhoods AKA HOODS on a daily basis . Their rewards far exceed any penalty for their actions . Unwilling donors are their biggest threat . No charges will be brought against the donor because the solicitors were not injured .

EVEN THIS CAT ISN'T IMMUNE FROM A STICKUP

Real tough, rob a 61 year old lady, really shows how tough the animals are. I'm sure there parent/parents are real proud of them and when they get shot and killed someday they'll cry "why, he was such a good kid!" Can't wait till they met up with a senior citizen that won't take the crap.

If it would have happened to a politician or someone in governmental administration those two teens would have been found very quickly. Do hope the lady will find a way to be safer as to have someone there when she gets out of her car so that it does not happen again. Posted by Lynda

The robber picks out the most vulnerable in the store and follows her home...this way he can avoid being photographed by the store security camera...

If you buy a Smith&Wesson with a shrouded hammer you can shoot right through your coat pocket without it jamming. Give them all five rounds and send them to hell.

Saddad,

Excellent advice.

Perhaps a double action semi-auto with a large magazine...for a double helping of lead when you feel one dose isn't enough?
