Man arrested in thefts at school

Published: Wed, December 9, 2009 @ 12:00 a.m.

STAFF REPORT

CANFIELD — A 18-year-old man who was being tutored at Canfield Middle School is charged with theft and criminal trespass.

Brennan Diana, of Rosewood Drive in Boardman, turned himself in to police Monday after police said he took money from gym bags in the girls’ locker room at the middle school.

Police said Diana was at the middle school Friday afternoon at about 2:30 p.m. for a tutoring session. The teacher he was working with said she walked Diana out of the building at 2:45 p.m., and was startled to see him inside again just after 3 p.m. She told police she escorted him outside again.

Canfield police were contacted at about 4 p.m. after a female student said she and her friends were in the girls’ locker room when Diana came in and told them he had to clean the toilet stalls. School officials said Diana is not employed by the district.

The girls returned to the locker room after about 10 minutes and saw Diana standing inside the gym by the locker room door, according to a police report. They told police that their belongings were scattered around the room, and several of the girls said money was missing from their bags.

Diana was booked Monday on a charge of theft and a charge of criminal trespass and released under his own recognizance. He is scheduled for arraignment at 5 p.m. today in Mahoning County Area Court in Canfield.

I'm not surprised at all. "Mr." Diana is a criminal and thief! This is one of the few times he was actually caught. When he gets in trouble, he blames others for his own illegal actions.

Brennan has come a long way since his younger days . He is now truly a stalwart of the subculture .

Skateboarding and in-line skating are more popular than football, a study says.

"I live here basically," Brennan Diana said.

Squeaks, smacks, slides and Chili Peppers fill the laid-back indoor facility as Diana and Thomas zoom through the park on their boards, twisting and turning their bodies while somehow maintaining their balance.

Diana completes a board-slide off a rail. The 15-year-old leaps onto a black pole, twists his board horizontally and glides down the rail before nailing the landing onto the pavement.

"If you don't have enough money, they hook you up," Diana said. "If you want new ramps, they'll do it, without hesitation. They listen."

I can attest to the fact that he wasn't nearly as bad as he is now. He has robbed a Canfield home (not publicized), smokes marijuana frequently and this really seals the deal. He will NEVER learn and repeatedly breaks the law without getting caught.

It's "AN 18-year-old man", not "A 18-year-old man". The errors in this paper make my eyes bleed.
