BOARDMAN — A township park employee made a disturbing discovery in a park pavilion Friday. The employee found a 34-year-old Canfield man at about 1:30 p.m., hanging in a pavilion near the Kids’ Town Playground — an apparent suicide. The employee called police.
Police said notes believed written by the man were found near the scene.
The man, whose identity wasn’t available Friday, worked as a Marine recruiter, police said.

Very sad that one of our defenders would take his own life .
Yes it is very sad, my condolences to his family and my thanks to him for his service to us and our country. It is also very sad that he would choose to do that where children would see him.
2005 data indicates 1 out of 4 adults will suffer from a diagnosable/treatable mental illness in a given year. Every 18 sminutes someone in the United States commits suicide every 19 minutes someone is left to make sense of it all. Support your local National Alliance for Mental Illness organization. May peace find you my friend.
I hope there is a complete investigation, and that the police do not just assume suicide, even if there appears to be a suicide note. Murders have sometimes been disguised as suicides. My deepest sympathy to this man's family, and my prayers that his soul finds peace.
