It’s been a tough life
EDITOR:
I have been a life long Democrat. I have been a life long Cleveland Browns fan. Being both have been a tough struggle in my life.
For the Cleveland Browns, I am tired of saying next year. For being a Democrat, I am tired of waiting for the American dream.
When Obama was elected, we were promised change. Cash for Clunkers was a big toilet for the U.S. car industry. When the program ended Monday, 80 percent of the cars or trucks bought were foreign. The program should of only been designed for Chrysler, GM, Ford and Hondas made in the USA. I think this was another slap in the face for all taxpayers.
When GM filed for bankruptcy and dumped the Delphi pension, it was the fault of the Democratic auto tax force. GM wanted to fund the Delphi, but pension the auto task force said no. If this is the change Obama is looking for, I think his political career will end in 2012. As far as the other office holders, we Delphi retirees — all 70,000 of us — are putting you on notice to find some sort of solution to our pension and health care.
I will be voting with my head next time not my heart. Go Browns. WOOF-WOOF

Andy,
That is the problem with being a Democrat. You WAIT for the American Dream.
Take responsibility for yourself, go out a make the dream come true for yourself.
"The program should of only been designed for Chrysler, GM, Ford and Hondas made in the USA."
There should have been a program and although I would the point if it were to be passed it should be a requirement to include atleast 50% american manufactured parts along with assembly in the states regardless of name plate.
"80 percent of the cars or trucks bought were foreign" I don't believe this is factually correct. These are just the top cars
1. Toyota Corolla - California
2. Honda Civic -Indiana
3. Toyota Camry -Kentucky
4. Ford Focus FWD - Michigan
5. Hyundai Elantra - Korea
6. Nissan Versa - Mexico
7. Toyota Prius - Japan
8. Honda Accord - Marysville Ohio
9. Honda Fit - Japan
10. Ford Escape FWD - Missouri
So 60% of the top 10 are American.
July 2009 Market Share (July 2008)
GM - 18.8% (20.4%)
Ford - 15.9% (13.7%)
Chrysler- 8.9% (8.6%)
Toyota- 17.5% (17.4%)
Honda- 11.5% (12.2%)
Nissan - 7.2 % (8.4%)
Other - 20.2% (19.2%)
Woody you insufferable twit. The man has already worked a life time and performed all required of him for the pension he bargained for.
