Health-care vigil near Northside Sunday

Published: Sat, August 22, 2009 @ 7:39 a.m.

YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning Valley Organizing Collaborative and participating churches will have a health- care vigil in front of Northside Medical Center, 500 Gypsy Lane, from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Organizers said the purpose is to show the community and its elected representatives the importance of supporting health-care reform with the choice of a public option. They support House Bill 3200, which they say would eliminate co-pays for preventive care; eliminate rate increases and coverage denials for pre-existing conditions; cap total out-of-pocket spending; guarantee every American the right to choose their plan and doctors; and include a public-insurance option.

The MVOC’s primary focus is to unite groups throughout the community to increase quality of life in urban neighborhoods in Youngstown and Warren.

A] they should be protesting any form of Obama Care

B] Demanding the ban on be dropped on out of state Health Care insurance [McCain 08] and toss the whole Health Care Insurance System into a free market competitive situation.

C] Then start demanding from there.

Let's see, no rate increases, no co-pays, caps on out of pocket costs AND the right to choose doctors and plans.

Some people still believe in Santa Claus. Worse yet, they think he's a politician.

Some form of Obama health care will emerge . One thing that is certain is that the productive will pay for the health care of the non productive . Drugs, tobacco , alcohol, aids and other STD's all add up to a large portion of health care costs . This doesn't even take into consideration the costs of abortion which was deemed a right of the underprivileged . When health care rationing is initiated don't expect the productive to be a priority .

You guys talk out of both sides of your mouth, especially Stan.
He claims to be so worried about the health of babies, yet who is more "unproductive"?

Stan, I've got news for you. Middle class people smoke, have sex, like alcohol (really like alcohol), and use drugs. Yes! Can you believe it?

What's more, abortion is already covered by many private insurance plans, although in the Public Option plan of the House bill, it is not.

Christian communities care for each other. There is not getting around that in the Gospel, especially in Acts of the Apostles, and the letters of Paul.

"Christian communities" can care for each other all they like so long as they don't demand taxpayers foot the bill. The so-called "public option" is just nationalization through the back door.

"cap total out-of-pocket spending" "eliminate rate increases"

Clearly they have no idea of the importance of a pricing mechanism in the economy.

I doubt you'll ever hear about St. E's supporting the Obamacare program. They are probably afraid the federal government will try and make them do abortions, and rightly afraid.

I didn't know that ! Now I am enlightened !

Yes, I have news for you . They don't do this 24/7 because if they did they would not be employable and thus would no longer be middle class . The subculture has 24/7 idle time and makes a career out of making the rest of the people look very pious .

How come they can organize and opponents of the current health-care reform offering cannot without being called mobs amongst other names??

if they were not screaming and packing heat maybe they wouldn't be called mobs

Constitutional rights are really overrated, unless they go against your opinion.
