Two indicted and jailed in Masury teen’s shooting death
TweetGIRARD — Two Masury residents are jailed on charges tied to the shooting death of a 15-year-old boy.
Karen Adams and Paul Sundy Jr., both of Stateline Road, were taken into police custody Thursday at the Girard Municipal Court.
They had been secretly indicted by a Trumbull County grand jury. The two are being investigated in the death of Robert Flynn, also of Masury.
Detective Mike Begeot of the Hubbard Township Police Department said Adams is charged with one count of murder with a gun specification; three counts of felonious assault; and one felony count of tampering with evidence.
Sundy Jr. is charged with one count of tampering with evidence and one count of obstructing justice — both felonies.
Begeot said the two will be arraigned at 9:30 a.m. today in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court, Warren.
Adams was in the municipal court on a third-degree felony charge of tampering with evidence. Judge Michael Bernard was to conduct a preliminary hearing Thursday afternoon. But Begeot and Girard police then informed Adams and Sundy Jr. they were being arrested.
Both Adams and Sundy Jr. were handcuffed and escorted to vehicles outside the municipal building. Adams was placed in an unmarked Mercury Grand Marquis and Sundy Jr. was placed in a Girard police cruiser. Both were taken to the Trumbull County jail.
The indictment came as a surprise to both Adams and Sundy Jr., who offered no comment.

Here is what should have been done when all this started. As soon as the kids showed up looking for trouble 911 should have been called . Unless the home was being invaded there was no need for using firearms .
Now we have a dead teen and a mother and father jailed . Their daughter will forever bear the scars of this tragedy . The family of the boy who was killed will forever be asking,why ?
Is what should be done is let the two adults go and arrest the kids involved in the whole thing.i willing to bet you ask 8 out of 10 people if 4 teenagers showed up at your house at 2:30 in the morning with weapons(i know they say they didnt have any,but looking for trouble with an adult that late,anyone with a brain knows they had something and also had plenty enough time to ditch them )they would do the same thing.All these two people did was protect themselves from a bunch of young thugs.THese people are heros in my book because they stood up and protected themselves!!!!!! If it was me i'd be shopping for a lawyer to file some type of civil suit against the parents of these boys because they allowed these kids way out pass the CURFEW thats a law for anyone under 18.
You call those people heros! Sure it was wrong for those kids to be there at 2:30am. It would of not gotten to this point if they would of used better parenting on who and what their 15 yr old daughter was doing with a 21yr old. HELLO! I believe in baring arms, but what I do know is Karen Adams! She makes up stories to make herself look good. She's a trouble maker no matter where she goes. She's a lier and a theif. I keep track of my 16 yr old son. Sure we can tell them what is the correct path to take, you hope and pray they take your advise. The 15 yr old is following the same path her mother did. But she might get a better chance of being a better person being away from that thing of a mother/person. I knew she was going to get charged with murder, because I knew her/it.
I do pray for all the children involved in this mess. Even though I dislike that woman(Karen Adams). I do have compassion for all the children involved. Mainly the family of the Robert Flynn.
