YOUNGSTOWN — A city man who played a part in the robbery that led to the death of another man will spend the next eight years in prison.
Hassan Merriweather, 23, formerly of Rutledge, appeared before Judge Maureen Sweeney in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court, for sentencing on a charge of complicity to aggravated robbery. He was sentenced to eight years in prison with credit given for the 510 days he has spent in the county jail.
Police said the investigation revealed that Merriweather took part in a planned robbery, in which Demar Flores, 18, of Elliot Lane was lured to a home on Rutledge that Merriweather shared with several other people. Police say someone called Flores to come to the home before Flores was shot multiple times March 17, 2008.

It looks like killing Demar was no big deal .
I agree. Only 8 years ??? Yep , THAT will make up for taking someone's life.
That is 8 years of training on how to become a better felon. When Merriweather gets out, our "Correctional facility" will have properly trained him on how to be a better criminal.
Further proof the judicial system is severely flawed. This sends a clear message: you'll do less than 10 years. So, shoot 'em up!
He was the mastermind of the whole thing, set his supposed bestfriend up to be murdered, lied and snitced on everyone else and got 8 years, thats crazy. Rest in peace Demar
