LOS ANGELES (AP) — Hours before Michael Jackson’s death, his doctor administered multiple sedatives along with a powerful anesthetic the pop star used to sleep, according to a law enforcement official.
It’s a safe combination if done properly; potentially lethal if not.
The official said the type of sedatives Dr. Conrad Murray gave Jackson were benzodiazepines, often used to calm patients before surgery.
Murray told investigators the doses were within normal medical guidelines, said the official, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing.
Even at acceptable levels, benzodiazepines can intensify how the anesthetic propofol depresses breathing, so strict monitoring and careful dosing is required. The balance can be tricky, a slip-up disastrous.

What suicide? The doctor who administered a toxic cocktail of drugs needs to be brought to task.
If there is one thing CA is very good at, it is wasting money, especially if they are in fiscal trouble.
I think between Anna Nicole Smith, Heath Ledger, now Michael Jackson, and I'm sure others I can't think of right now, it's time that the drug companies or our government put a law/regulation in place that all pharmarcies throughout the United States must have a central based drug/patient file on anyone that has ever gotten or is currently recieving prescriptions. As far as them using another alias, that's another story all together.
Dr. Gonzo, That's very funny coming from fiscally sound Youngstown, Ohio
