Mahoning Valley residents are asked to come out in large numbers Saturday to send a message to politicians in Washington and Columbus.

Jim Graham, president of United Auto Workers Local 1112 in Lordstown, expects thousands of people to attend the “America Fights Back. Enough” rally at 1 p.m. on Courthouse Square in downtown Warren.

“We need jobs,” Graham said. “If you want to solve the economy, building up China, building up Japan is not the way to do it.”

About 100 people attended an organizational meeting today.

Rally all you want...those jobs are gone and they are not coming back. Good effort by Mr. Graham & Mr Green.. your jobs will be safe for another 6 months, maybe... It is unfortunate that the Lordstown plant and the area will suffer because of circumstances beyond their control. Cobalt / Cruze...?? 3 years too late. No way can they compete w/Prius, Corolla, Camry, Accord, Civic or Insight. GM should replace the engineers, not the laborers. Oh yes...the Volt!! Should be the Dolt.. Oh well, maybe next time Good Luck..err Goodbye GM

Well I think alot of their problems they brought on themselves. I took my car to get fixed at a local chevy dealer in austintown ( I wonder what one) It was found that I needed an alternator and a battery for my 1998 Chevy. They quoted me 1.100.00 dollars. I almost fell over. I tool it somewhere else and got the work done for 400.00. Now where is that fair the prices they charge hard working people. I wanted them to succeed before but I don't car anymore They want hard working people to pay such outrageous prices, so they can make the big bucks..forget it. let them go under, someone has got to stop them,, I rather give the money to an honest hardworking little repair shiop mechanic not them. That is highway robbery. So instead of making a fair dollar on me they got nothing.

I think american cars are better. You think the Prius is better but it actually fails the test because we have cars here that get better milage and don't cost as much. In order for our economy tos urvive we need to take care of our own first and buying foriegn cars isn't the answer. My cars are from really American countries not american wanna be's.
