Warren man charged in drive-by shooting deaths
WARREN — The 22-year-old Warren man charged with complicity to murder in the drive-by shooting death of an 11-year-old boy and a 26-year-old man on April 13 had a MySpace page on the Internet in which he called himself “Young Montana” — a reference to the character Tony Montana from the 1983 movie “Scarface.”
The page for Marcus Yager of Vine Avenue Northeast also lists his hometown as “war city, dub town, murderville, warren, Ohio.”
Police arrested Yager on Tuesday afternoon in connection with the shooting that killed Lloyd McCoy, 11, and Marvin J. Chaney, 26, of Fifth Street Southwest.
Another child, a nephew of Lloyd McCoy who lived at the house on Wick Street Southeast, was hit in the shoulder by the gunfire but is recovering.
Lloyd McCoy, a sixth-grader at Warren’s Willard K-8 School, was visiting at the time of the 9:50 p.m. shooting, which left as many as 30 bullet holes in the front of the home.
Police are still seeking other suspects. Yager was due in Warren Municipal Court today at 1 p.m. for an arraignment on his charges.
