YOUNGSTOWN — “Feed the Need” food giveaway will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of New Bethel Baptist Church, 1507 Hillman St., on the South Side. Individuals and families attending this event will receive a variety of items including boxes of food, personal items and Bibles. A spaghetti lunch also will be served.
Bus transportation is available to and from the event through the courtesy of WRTA. Justice will be absent
LISBON — One of the members of The Supreme Court of Ohio will not be be at today’s off-site visit at the Columbiana County Courthouse.
Justice Terrence O’Donnell will not be taking part due to a medical problem, according to the top court’s information office.
Chief Justice Thomas Moyer and Justices Paul E. Pfeifer, Evelyn Lundberg Stratton, Maureen O’Connor, Judith Ann Lanzinger and Robert R. Cupp were still slated to appear.
Area students who have been studying the legal system will hear oral arguments in one of four cases that have come before the top court.

Committee meeting set
YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning County United Veterans Council’s grave-decoration committee will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Mahoning County Veterans Service Commission Office, 345 Oak Hill Ave., Entrance A, to issue flags and applications for Memorial Day expenses.
VIENNA — A 28-member team from the 910th Airlift Wing’s Medical Squadron will leave Saturday via a jet-powered C-17 strategic cargo transport aircraft for a medical training mission to the Dominican Republic.
The specialists will provide humanitarian family, dental and eye care for upward of 10,000 people during their 14-day deployment, scheduled to last until May 8.
The mission will provide valuable training to the 910th’s specialists as well as give medical care to the people of the Dominican Republic, a spokesman said.
HARTFORD — Hartford Township’s annual spring cleanup will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 16 at Hartford Center. Tires, water heaters, stoves, washers, dryers, lead-acid batteries and refrigerators will be accepted. All Freon must be removed before bringing items. No paints, oils or liquid chemicals will be accepted.
