Fundraiser will help woman with lymphoma

WASHINGTONVILLE — A Night at the Races will begin at 7 p.m. May 2 at Washingtonville VFW, 5532 S. Countyline Road, for the benefit of Lora Kyser, a single mother of three, formerly of Leetonia, who has lymphoma, and has undergone many treatments in the past three years. She lost her husband five months ago to cancer.

She needs a bone marrow transplant. Proceeds will help defray the medical and living expenses while she is undergoing treatment in Dallas.

There will be raffles and food. For more information or to purchase a “horse” for $25, call (330) 482-0499. Admission without a “horse” is $5 a person. Donations to a Chinese auction also will help her cause.
