Like Milton police are TRU TV stars

Published: Mon, September 22, 2008 @ 1:59 p.m.

LAKE MILTON — Films crews from Los Angeles rode along with Lake Milton police officers in May to document traffic stops and other encounters to air on TruTV cable series “Speeders” and MTV reality series “Busted,” said Chief Michael K. Saltsman Sr.

The footage was used recently in three episodes of “Busted” and will be used in upcoming episodes of “Speeders,” he said. The first “Speeders” episode airs Thursday at 8:30 p.m. on the former Court TV channel.

Saltsman said Lake Milton officers felt it was a great opportunity to show law enforcement in a positive light and bring national attention to such a small beautiful community in hopes that it would be considered as a vacation destination.

as long as they don't show me getting a ticket from Craig Beach, this will be good to watch!

jetercp,

Crooked!?!?! Crooked?!?!?!? Yer gonna g, g, g, g, g, ge, ge, ge, get you in t, t, trouble you call these cops crooked. I know one of them personally & he'll hit you on the head and break your ankles if you question his integrity. Which of course you won't cuz yer a b*tch! These MEN put their life on the line each and every time they pull a car over. How would you like to approach a car at 2:00 A.M. on a desolate road and deal with someone that you have no idea what they are thingking or going to do, all you know is that they are pissed off you are there?

Whoa Whoa Whoa... wait a second... who said anything about a ticket? Do you always get a ticket for being stopped? No! So tune in... watch the episode, I'm sure you'll find it entertaining. These guys deserve the recognition for the job they do. It's comments like yours that give a negative reflection to law enforcement. Unless you know one of them personally, don't call them crooked. We don't criticize the job you do, (grocery store clerk, doctor, teacher, burger flipper, etc.) so don't criticize us. There are plenty of backwards people in all professions but that doesn't make everyone doing that job a jerk. I'll admit that some cops are not meant to wear a badge, but that doesn't make these guys bad. Oh and as for fighting crime... 1 murder in Lake Milton in who knows how many years... subject arrested, case solved in less then 30 minutes. Ah, I thank you!
