BOARDMAN — The leader of a business committee advising township trustees believes a recently approved plan for Boardman’s future is a good start, but stresses it’s only the beginning.
Its top goals are re-establishing services, developing a plan to ensure long-term financial stability and stabilizing quality-of-life programming that differentiates the township from other communities.
“I would definitely call it a step in the right direction,” said Jim Rosa, who leads a business advisory committee formed earlier this year. The committee provides input and makes recommendations to trustees regarding finances and services.
Trustee Larry Moliterno developed the plan with help from Trustees Robyn Gallitto and Kathy Miller, the business committee, Administrator Jason Loree, Fiscal Officer William Leicht, department heads and union leaders.
The document approved by trustees this month sets out short- and long-term goals for the township, assigning specific goals to trustees and department heads.

Get ready residents, to implement this plan will require that you send in all of your income.
"Stabilizing quality-of-life programming that differentiates the township from other communities?"
Seriously, folks....will they explain what this buzz phrase actually means??!!
It's a scam from a trustee who doesn't have a clue in Moliterno. Many of the things he proposes are very costly. Where is the money coming from? Perhaps he can fool or scare the voters into passing a levy. But that will just be a temporary band aid. The citizens aren't aware of the cost of their employees in the township. Folks, they are making way more than township taxpayers. Even the professionals in Boardman don't make this kind of money and benefits. $20,000 more than peer communities in wages and benefits. 35 vacation days for those at the high end. Cars for 28 officers some who live outside Boardman. Maybe he should have Boardman playing the Mega Millions because that's the money they'll need from the taxpayers to implement this plan.
This town needs some changes! Maybe this plan will be a good thing, maybe it won't. I think it will be quite some time before we know what direction it's going in. As far as where the money will come from...as voters, we have the option to say 'no' to excessive levys. Just remember one thing, supporting our schools, beautification projects, infrastructure and township services help keep our property value's up and degenerates out! Recently, we've voted down most of the levy's put on the ballot. I don't know about you, but I want my property value to go up!
