Giuliani criticizes Obama experience, urges Republicans to work hard to elect McCain as president

Published: Tue, October 21, 2008 @ 11:26 a.m.

BOARDMAN — Rudy Giuliani, the former New York City mayor and one-time presidential candidate, urged fellow Republicans today to ignore the polls and keep working hard to elect John McCain as the next president.

Giuliani spoke to a crowd of about 250 people packed into the Mahoning County Republican Party headquarters here.

The most recent polls show McCain, the senator from Arizona, trailing U.S. Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois, the Democratic Party presidential candidate.

“There isn’t even a choice between these two candidates,” he said.

Giuliani said Obama was the least-experienced candidate for president in the last 100 years. He said, however, that McCain is one of the most experienced and best candidates this nation has had for president during that same time period.

Giuliani criticized Obama for proposing a plan that includes the “redistribution of wealth.” He mentioned that Obama is espousing an idea of 19th century socialist Karl Marx, but when asked later by The Vindicator if he believed Obama was a socialist Giuliani said he was not.

“But he embraces some of those views,” Giuliani said of Obama.

Giuliani was to head to GOP headquarters in Warren later today.

Obviously Giuliani is wrong. GW Bush has been the worst President in my lifetime.

Our national debt is $10 trillion. Bush has presided over eight of the eight largest federal budget deficits. McCain voted for every one of Bush's budgets.

The current crisis was caused by greedy mortgagors and dumb mortgagees. McCain voted to deregulate the mortage industry.

What is not needed is a long and checkered resume. What is needed is common sense.

McSame should have picked Giuliani as his running mate. Their campaign slogan could have been: POW 9/11 POW 9/11 POW 9/11 POW 9/11 POW 9/11.....!

Obama will take this country to third world status if he is elected. Our economy is shot because the greedy oil companies put us in a position to go broke because of their greed. The higher gas went up the less choices we had on how to spend our money. Obama has gotten more money out Freddie Mac and Fannie May than any other President ever. I am a Democrat but I'm not dumb enough to vote for some one who will sell us under. All he is doing is promoting pipe dreams.

250...nice turn out. Those precious few should be honored to hear in person the wit and wisdom of Rudy G. Oil and pharmaceutical companies pay him millions to come and speak to their groups for 30 minutes; he's talking to people in the Valley for free (as far as we know).

I don't think Rudy is an adulterer, either...but judging by his behavior he sure seems to embrace some of those views. Religious conservatives can look the other way on all of that, though…right? Laughable.
