WITTENBERG at HIRAM
Kickoff: 1 p.m. Records: Wittenberg 2-1, 1-0 North Coast Athletic Conference; Hiram 2-1, 1-0 NCAC Notebook: Sophomore defensive back Nick Haigh and junior linebacker Alex Ream were bright spots for Hiram in its first loss of the season, 41-6 to Carnegie Mellon. Both players registered 12 tackles and Ream added a half-tackle for a loss. In its 32-0 shutout of Ohio Wesleyan, Wittenberg forced five turnovers. Freshman Zach Hurtt forced a fumble, picked off one interception and was in on 12 tackles. Freshman running back Trevor Luckenbill surpassed 100 yards rushing for the first time in his career when he rolled up 117 yards on 19 carries.
GROVE CITY at SAINT VINCENT
Kickoff: 1:30 p.m. Records: Grove City 2-2, Saint Vincent 1-3 Notebook: Grove City makes its first trip to Saint Vincent since 1960. WR Stephen Mercer set a school record with 15 catches in a 49-21 loss to Washington & Jefferson. QB Andrew DiDonato threw for a career-high 273 yards. Saint Vincent lost to Waynesburg 21-12, despite a 93-yard kickoff return for a TD by Jairus Marlow. Saint Vincent had four passes intercepted and suffered nine sacks. THIEL at WESTMINSTER
Kickoff: 1:30 p.m. Records: Thiel 0-4, 0-1 PAC; Westminster 2-2, 0-1 Notebook: Thiel managed just 189 total yards in a 31-17 loss to Geneva. Thiel is 0-4 for the first time since 1995. Westminster QB Kevin Franz is now third on the school’s all-time list with 4,812 passing yards. In a 31-10 loss to Thomas More WR Chad Rosatelli caught a career-high 10 passes. Kickoff: 2 p.m. Records: Thomas More 2-1, 2-0 PAC; Bethany 1-2, 0-1 Notebook: Thomas More outscored Westminster 21-0 in the second half, in a 31-10 victory. QB Trevor Stellman was 17-for-23 for 200 yards and added 30 yards rushing and a TD. Bethany comes off a bye week.WR Matt Cruse is tied for the school’s all-time lead with 18 career TD receptions. MOUNT UNION at BALDWIN-WALLACE
Kickoff: 2 p.m. Records: Mount Union 3-0, 2-0 Ohio Athletic Conference; Baldwin-Wallace 2-1, 2-0 Notebook: Mount Union won its 66th straight road game at Muskingum, 51-13, as RB Nate Kmic rushed for 181 yards and QB Greg Micheli matched his career high with four TD passes. ALLEGHENY at WABASH
Kickoff: 2 p.m. Records: 2-1, 1-0 NCAC; 3-0, 2-0 Notebook: In its first home game of the season, Allegheny defeated Oberlin, 24-13, despite being outgained in first downs, passing yards, total offense and time of possession. Junior LB Andy Schleihauf paced the Gator defense with eight tackles, one interception and a pass broken up. Wabash claimed its 12th consecutive NCAC victory in its 55-13 defeat of Kenyon. The Little Giants are ranked fifth in the AFCA poll and eighth by D3football.com.
WALSH at SAINT XAVIER (ILL.)
Kickoff: 2 p.m. Records: Walsh 1-3, 0-0 Mid-States Football Association; St. Xavier 2-2, 0-0 Notebook: Clinton Blossomgame rushed for 189 yards and a TD in Walsh’s 27-25 loss to Quincy. QB Marc Pullen was 10-for-24 for 161 yards and two TDs. St. Xavier, ranked No. 21 in NAIA, defeated Trinity International, 56-0. Donnie Selby rushed for 140 yards and Jeremy Zientek passed for 218 yards; four of his nine completions went for TDs.
MARIAN (IND.) at MALONE
Kickoff: 2 p.m. Records: Marian 3-1, 0-1 MSFA; Malone 1-1, 0-0 Notebook: Malone had 489 total yards in a 43-3 win over Olivet Nazarene. QB Billy Bob Orsagh threw for 241 yards on 14-of-22. Marian RB William Stubbs has played only two games but is averaging 112 yards per game. QB Matt Rogers is 49-of-94 for 727 yards and 8 TDs, but has 8 interceptions. JaQuan Patilla has 15 catches and Justin Hall has 11.
SLIPPERY ROCK at INDIANA (PA.)
Kickoff: 2:35 p.m. Records: Slippery Rock 3-2, 1-1 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference; Indiana 3-1, 1-1 Notebook: Rock RB Ryan Lehmeier is averaging 85 yards per game but the team is 11th in the PSAC in rushing yards per game. Kickoff: 7 p.m. Records: Washington & Jefferson 4-0, 2-0 PAC; Geneva 1-2 Notebook: Senior QB Bobby Swallow passed for 201 yards and RB Curt Jones rushed for 80 yards in a 32-12 win over Grove City. The Presidents are ranked No. 11 in the AFCA Division III poll. Geneva picked up its first win, 31-17, over Thiel. Sophomore RB Gerard Muschetta rushed for 126 yards and scored a TD.
