Juvenile nabbed in Boardman armed robbery

Published: Fri, October 3, 2008 @ 5:40 p.m.

BOARDMAN — Police arrested a Youngstown juvenile and are searching for a second suspect in the armed robbery of two women at a Hudson Avenue home shortly after noon today.

Police said the pair, one armed with a handgun, forced their way into a home in the 3900 block occupied by a woman and her mother.

The two men took some jewelry and fled, but a neighbor who had noticed something was wrong, had already dialed 911 for assistance, police said.

Arriving officers spotted the two robbery suspects fleeing and gave chase. One of the pair escaped but the second was caught in the 400 block of West Midlothian Boulevard, police said.

He was being held in a juvenile detention facility on an armed robbery charge pending arraignment.
