Carjacking on lower North Side

Published: Thu, November 13, 2008 @ 11:08 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN — A 50-year-old South Side resident told police he was carjacked while visiting a North Side neighborhood early Thursday morning.

The man told officers he parked his 2000 Ford Explorer in a parking lot at the corner of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Griffith Street at 11 p.m. Wednesday. Upon returning to the car, reports said, the man was approached from behind by a young male wearing a hoodie and brandishing a handgun.

Reports say the hooded thief took the man’s car keys and drove off in the truck.
