Promoted to sergeant

Timothy A. Root of the Ohio State Highway Patrol has been promoted to the rank of sergeant by Col. Richard H. Collins, patrol superintendent.

Root will transfer from Columbus to the Findlay District Office of Investigative Services.

He earned his commission in October 1988 and was assigned to the Granville Post, where in 2001 he was named Post Trooper of the Year by his peers and earned the Ace Award for excellence in auto larceny enforcement. In February 2004, he transferred to Columbus.

Originally from Youngstown, Root lives in Columbus with his wife, April.


Chiropractic degree

Dr. John Allan Esarco II, the son of Dr. and Mrs. John Esarco, has received his doctor of chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic, Florida Campus.

He is a 2000 graduate of Canfield High School. He received his bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology from Ohio University.

While at Palmer College, Dr. Esarco was a member of the clinic abroad program. The program is a volunteer organization in which students travel to poverty stricken locations around the world, bringing chiropractic care to those less fortunate.

Dr. Esarco has begun working at the family-owned and operated Esarco Chiropractic Center in Boardman.


Admitted to bar

Jennifer Michelle Conti, who graduated from Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Fla., in the spring, has been admitted to the Florida bar.

Atty. Conti graduated from Canfield High School in 2000 and from the University of Akron in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and two minors in finance and entrepreneurship.

She also received her master’s degree in the studies of law with a concentration in corporate business from the University of Pittsburgh in May 2005.

Conti is the daughter of James and Patricia (Walker) Conti, both of Canfield, and the granddaughter of Wayne and Jeanne Walker of Liberty and the late Lawrence and Della Conti of New Castle, Pa.
