Congressman English schedules seminar on avoiding identity theft

MERCER, Pa. — U.S. Rep. Phil English of Erie, R-3rd, has arranged an informational session on how people can avoid identity theft. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Woodland Place, 745 Greenville Road.

English will be joined by Derick Rill, an expert from the Federal Trade Commission who will teach local residents how they can better protect their personal and financial information.

English said. “I encourage local residents to join us for an informational session on identity theft and learn how to protect themselves from this growing problem.” Identity theft is the fastest growing crime in the nation. Over 27 million Americans across every age group, income level and race have already had their identities stolen. English’s informational session will feature presentations and discussions on identity theft awareness.
