Full slate of tribute bands at Warren Amphitheater

WARREN — A full season of concerts at the Warren Amphitheater is scheduled for the summer.

Every Saturday, from May 24 to Sept. 27, a tribute band that imitates a classic rock band will give a free concert at the downtown outdoor venue. Beer and food vendors will be on hand.

The series began last summer with four concerts, and was expanded to a full season this summer, said Norma Hartsock of Clear Channel Radio, one of the sponsors. For more information to go thesummitrockshowcase.com.

Sept. 6: Mr. Speed (Kiss)

Sept. 13: Broken Road (Rascal Flatts); 52nd Street (Billy Joel); and Captain Fantastic (Elton John)

Sept. 20: Ohio (Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young)

Sept. 27: Stone Pony (Bruce Springsteen and Southside Johnny)

Rural Life Museum open for the season

MERCER, Pa.— The Mercer County Historical Society Rural Life Museum has opened for the season. Hours will be 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays through September, weather permitting. Dale Boyd, curator, will be on-site to answer questions about the displays. The museum is one mile north of Mercer on Route 58, on the Munnell Run Farm and behind the Woodland Place. Canfield Fair concert ticket information

CANFIELD — Lynyrd Skynyrd will headline the 2008 Canfield Fair with a concert at the grandstand Sept. 1.

Other national musical acts this year will include Corbin Bleu and Vanessa Hudgens, the stars of Disney’s film “High School Musical,” Aug. 28; and country music stars Josh Turner and Jo Dee Messina, Aug. 31. All shows start at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $29 reserved/$25 grandstand for both the Lynyrd Skynyrd and Josh Turner-Jo Dee Messina concerts; and $25 reserved/$21 grandstand for Corbin Bleu and Vanessa Hudgens.

Tickets go on sale online at canfieldfair.com at 9 a.m. June 9.
