NILES — Wright State starter Alex Kaminsky threw six scoreless innings, and the Youngstown State baseball team couldn’t come up with clutch hits as the Raiders won 8-2 on a rainy Friday evening at Eastwood Field.
Joe Iacobucci had three hits while David Leon and Josh Page had two apiece for the Penguins, who dropped to 9-8 in Horizon League contests and three games behind the front-running Raiders.
The Penguins had 11 hits, but only two came with runners in scoring position in 11 opportunities. They also had a runner on third with less than two outs twice and did not execute.
Gerald Ogrinc had three hits and three RBIs to lead Wright State.
The Penguins trailed 7-0 until scoring their runs in the seventh inning. Erich Diedrich’s double to right scored Page and Jason Reitenbach.
