Who’s who

A number of local and national sports figures came to Sunday’s seventh annual fundraiser at the MVR restaurant in Youngstown to help raise money for scholarships for Cardinal Mooney High School. Among them:

Mark “Bo” Pelini and Carl Pelini: The brothers, both Mooney graduates, are the University of Nebraska’s head football coach and the university’s defensive coordinator, respectively.

Jon Heacock: Youngstown State University’s head football coach.

Bob and Ron Stoops: University of Oklahoma’s head football coach, and a Mooney assistant coach, respectively.

Jay Paterno: Penn State University’s offensive coordinator and son of Penn State coach Joe Paterno.

Kirk Herbstreit: ESPN analyst and former Ohio State University quarterback.

Kelly “The Ghost” Pavlik: WBC middleweight boxing champion.

Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini: Former lightweight boxing champion.

Ed Muransky: Former NFL player with the Oakland Raiders.
