NOTEBOOK Scrappers vs. Batavia

Published: Sat, June 28, 2008 @ 12:00 a.m.

Top 10: Heading into Friday night’s game, catcher Doug Pickens led the team with a .421 batting average but did not have enough at bats to rank in the top 10 in the New York-Penn League.

New addition: Left-handed pitcher Eric Berger has been added to the Scrappers’ roster. Berger is an 8th round draft choice of the Cleveland Indians in the 2008 draft out of the University of Arizona.

No rain delay: Despite threatening skies at the onset of the game play began only five minutes late. The light rain ended quickly and the rest of the night was played in dry conditions.

Hitting streak: The Scrappers’ streak of three straight games with at least 10 hits ended Friday night. They finished with six.
