Four charged with drug trafficking in Girard

GIRARD — Four men are due back in Girard Municipal Court July 2 after being charged Wednesday with aggravated trafficking in drugs.

Michael Hollenbaugh, 23, of Warren; Brandon Brown, 24, of Youngstown; Marcus Rutledge, 22, of Youngstown; and William Karpenko, 23, of Warren; were arrested. They were each given a $50,000 bond on the felony charge.

According to police reports, a Patricia Drive resident went to the police station and told officers that four men were “cooking crack cocaine” in the residence of his neighbor and refusing to leave. Police set up surveillance oF the home, eventually going in and arresting the men.

Reports say police confiscated numerous items including 4.3 ounces of crack cocaine.
