Woman went on rampage in Warren, cops say

Published: Thu, June 26, 2008 @ 1:30 p.m.

WARREN – A 43-year-old Warren woman will be arraigned today in municipal court on four assault charges filed after police said she went on a rampage around the downtown.

Linda Jean White, of West Market Street, is being held in the Trumbull County jail after her Wednesday arrest — when police had to pull her shirt over her face because she was spitting on the arresting officer.

Police were called about 5 p.m. to America’s Best Value Motel on Mahoning Avenue, where they said she was ranting in the lobby.

The motel manager told police White had swung at and scratched a women who is six months pregnant. As police were taking her to the county jail, she became agitated and twice spit at the officer, police reported.

Earlier, about 11 a.m., police reported, White was at the Social Security office on East Market where she was told she couldn’t receive benefits for 30 days because she had been in jail.

A guard walked her out of the building, but she returned and struck the guard with her purse and clawed him in the chest. She left the building and was passing a woman on the sidewalk. White struck the woman several times on the arm, but the victim was able to break herself free, a report said.

At about 1 p.m., police noted, White saw a woman in the 100 block of West Market and struck her in the back.

And we emptied out all of the asylums so people in desperate need of mental health treatment could be sent to jail instead of receiving help? Oh, and some lawyers made a killing off it too.

Sorry, ancient history started in the 1960’s and non-voluntary commitments were mostly ended by the 1970’s. No judges want to violate a violent insane individuals civil rights, so they imprison them for criminal activity and getting them treatment is someone else’s (actually no one else’s) problem.

Insanity, criminal activity, jail, on meds, released, no meds, criminal activity, jail, on meds, released, no meds, criminal activity, death. Yes, you really are protecting their civil rights, but I thought the first one was to “life”, silly me.
