Smiths observe 60th anniversary of their wedding

X POLAND — Mr. and Mrs Joseph P. Smith Sr., 1871 Basil Ave., observed the 60th anniversary of their wedding during a dinner party on June 14 at Nicolinni’s Ristorante II in Boardman.

The event was hosted by the couple’s children, Patricia A. and Joe Anda of Poland and Lawrence E. Smith of Coral Springs, Fla., and their grandchildren, Jarod and Kyle Anda, both of Poland; Lawrence J. Smith of Youngstown; and Lisa and John Watson of Cary, N.C. A son, Dr. Joseph P. Smith Jr. is deceased.

Joseph Paul Smith and Philomena J. Antronica were united in marriage June 16, 1948, at St. Patrick Church in Youngstown.

Mrs. Smith retired in April 1994 from St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown, where she was a secretary in ambulatory recovery. Mr. Smith was a produce manager with the Kroger Co. prior to retiring in 1988.

The couple are members of St. Nicholas Church.
