BOARDMAN — An early morning fire today caused an estimated $500,000 damage to a home in the Sherwood Forest development here.
The home at 4370 Yakata Doro Drive was owned by Frank Fagnano and Stacey Northcutt, who plan an October wedding. They had just finished remodeling the dwelling, which they bought in November.
Fire Chief James Dorman said that two years ago, the home then vacant and owned by someone else, was deliberately set on fire. A cause has not been determined, the chief said, but the blaze started about in a sauna room in the home. Firefighters were called at 7 a.m.
Dorman said an hour later, the fire station at Shields Road and Lockwood Boulevard, the one closest to where the fire occurred, would have been closed because today’s firefighter shift didn’t have enough people working to man two stations because of vacations and a February layoff.

Nice job Dormat to keep mentioning the station closings to scare us. I guess the fact that you were only a minute away and the fire still caused 1/2 a million in damage doesn't speak to well as to the results even being that close. By the way, 1/2 a million in that development is practically a total loss.
As much hot air as you have apollo you could've blown the fire out right. Try doing Chief Dorman's job for a day and see what your up against instead of sitting around making comments about it. Try backing your fire, police and road departments instead of downing them all of the time.
