Portion of Fifth Avenue near YSU will close Friday for derby

YOUNGSTOWN — Fifth Avenue between Grant and Wood streets will be closed from 5 p.m. Friday until 8 p.m. Saturday for the Greater Youngstown Area Soap Box Derby.

If the derby, scheduled for Saturday, is rained out, Fifth will be closed Sunday for an undetermined time period. If that rain-out occurs, traffic will be permitted to cross Fifth at Lincoln Avenue during evening hours.
