GM relocations nudge real estate market upward

Published: Tue, June 17, 2008 @ 5:01 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN — The first wave of relocating General Motors Corp. employees has nudged the real estate market in the Mahoning Valley.

As more employees follow suit, the nudge may grow to a spike.

Rick Volpini, president and managing broker of Real Living in Howland and Poland, has taken note of the movement in the local real estate market.

The two Real Living locations have about 60 home listings in Mahoning County and 65 in Trumbull County.

It may take three months to determine the impact of GM employees coming to the area, he said.
