Section of Fifth Street in Struthers closed to truck traffic

Published: Mon, June 16, 2008 @ 4:59 p.m.

STRUTHERS — Fifth Street between Spring and Creed streets has been closed to trucks with more than two axles or a gross weight of more than 10 tons because of a weakened culvert.

Businesses on Fifth with addresses above 760 are asked to contact their delivery companies and advise them to bring deliveries in from the south and leave in that direction

Deliveries to addresses on Fifth of 700 or lower are to come in from the north and leave in the same direction.

Safety Service Director Edward H. Wildes said the culvert is safe for all other traffic. He said the new weight limit has been posted and will be strictly enforced by police.
