Jameson Health System names new president, CEO

NEW CASTLE — Douglas Danko has been named president and chief executive of Jameson Health System, replacing Thomas White, who is retiring Dec. 31.

Danko has been chief operating officer since last year. He joined the hospital in 1975 and has served as vice president of professional services and director of ambulatory care.

He received his bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1975 and his master’s degree in hospital and health care administration from the University of Minnesota in 1988.

Stock repurchase program is reauthorized by board

CANFIELD — The board of Farmers National Banc Corp. has reauthorized the company’s stock repurchase program that expired Thursday. The company is authorized to repurchase shares of its outstanding common stock in the open market or in privately negotiated transactions. The amount of stock repurchased shall not exceed 4.9 percent of the outstanding common stock.

Mississippi Delphi plant to eliminate one work shift

BROOKHAVEN, Miss. — The Delphi Packard Electric plant in Brookhaven is eliminating one of its three work shifts at the end of this month, said a story in the Sun Herald of Gulfport, Miss. The number of jobs being lost was not immediately available. The plant has about 440 workers.

Delphi communications director Rachelle Valdez says the scheduled closing of four General Motors truck and sport-utility vehicle assembly plants has caused work-force reductions at Delphi. The Mississippi plant makes electrical systems for the vehicles.

Farris Marketing hired by Youngstown businesses

BOARDMAN — Farris Marketing has been retained by a Youngstown manufacturer and an architectural firm.

Farris was hired by V M Star, a manufacturer of pipe and tubular products, to produce a custom time-lapse video presentation. Farris was retained to develop a multifeatured Web site for Balog, Steines, Hendricks Manchester Architects. BSHM has offices in Youngstown and Columbus.
