YOUNGSTOWN— A Youngstown firefighter is temporarily off the job after falling while fighting a blaze at a vacant Falls Avenue house.
While inside the burning house at 29 Falls Ave., firefighter Patrick George fell through a hole in the floor that was caused by the fire.
When the department arrived at 10:23 p.m. Wednesday, the house was engulfed in flames, according to the fire report.
George was taken by ambulance to St. Elizabeth Health Center and was treated for a minor bruises.
The cause of the fire is still unknown today. Undetermined damage also was done to the adjacent property at 31 Falls.
