NEW YORK — Is there anything sexier than food?

It’s probably no surprise that for Kim Cattrall it’s the people who make it. Known for her vixen character, Samantha, in “Sex and the City,” Cattrall put sex talk on the menu while hosting Sunday’s James Beard Foundation awards, often called the “Oscars” of the food world.

Cattrall opened the ceremony talking about her own love of cooking, then asked co-host and celebrity chef Bobby Flay what has more sex appeal than food. A breath later, she offered her own answer. “Maybe what’s sexier is the chefs who are always cooking up something new and exciting,” she cooed.

Emeril puts his face on Everyday Food

NEW YORK — The customary culinary eye candy on the cover of Martha Stewart’s Everyday Food magazine has been replaced by something that might have readers shouting “Bam!”

Instead of the usual recipe cover shot, readers of the July/August issue will see a picture of Emeril Lagasse and Stewart, marking the first time in the magazine’s five years that people, not food, have graced the cover.

The move marks a further development in the relationship between Lagasse and Stewart, whose company in February bought the rights to Lagasse’s franchise of cookbooks, television shows and kitchen products from him.

Rapper Warren G arrested

LOS ANGELES — Warren G has been arrested on a drug charge after police pulled over the car he was riding in.

Police say the 35-year-old rapper was arrested early Sunday after being pulled over for a red light violation. Officer Karen Smith says marijuana was found in the vehicle.

Drummer of Alabama sued by other band members

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The drummer for the country group Alabama has been sued by his fellow band members, who say he was overpaid $202,670.

The lawsuit filed May 9 in the Circuit Court of DeKalb County, Ala., claims that in 2003 Mark Herndon was paid for his share of net merchandise sales during the band’s “American Farewell Tour” before a final accounting was done.

Pamela Anderson to sell car for PETA’s benefit

LOS ANGELES — Pamela Anderson may have a need for speed, but her favorite charity has a need for funds.

That’s why the former “Baywatch” babe is selling her prized Dodge Viper and donating the proceeds to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

The 40-year-old actress recently held a private estate sale to benefit the animal organization, and she’s planning to personally oversee the sale of her 2000 Viper, which she customized herself with white racing stripes.

Alanis, Rob and Zen

NEW YORK — Alanis Morissette is not the person Rob Thomas thought she was.

Matchbox Twenty and its lead singer once saw her as a Zenlike soul, Morissette told Newsweek for its issue hitting newsstands Monday.

“He kept saying that whenever I wasn’t with him, his imagining was that I was levitating somewhere, meditating,” the Canadian singer said.

But then, “we had the most debaucherous, entertaining, hysterical time together, so they were the first to say that their perception of me was a little off,” she told the magazine.

Morissette is in the process of releasing her latest album “Flavors of Entanglement” and writing her first book.
