BLOOD DONORS NEEDED Information

The Northern Ohio Blood Services Region, which services 19 counties and 57 hospitals, says a minimum three-day supply of all eight blood types is needed. As of Monday, the region was below the minimum inventory standard on six of the eight types. Here are the eight blood types and the amounts available as of Monday:

O Positive, 1.7 days; A Positive, 2.4 days; B Positive, 3.4 days; AB Positive, 15.6 days; O Negative, 0.3 days; A Negative, 1.4 days; B Negative, 0.7 days; AB Negative, 0.4 days.

The blood-donation sites in Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties through June 21:

Columbiana

June 19: St. Paul’s Catholic School, 929 E. State St., Salem, 2 to 6 p.m.; Double Reds available (in this process, two units worth of red blood cells are separated from the donor’s and the fluid returned to the donor. Using this process, donors can donate every 112 days. Under the regular blood donation process, the period between donations is 56 days).

Mahoning

Wednesday: Poland Library, 311 S. Main St., Poland, 1 to 7 p.m.; Double Reds available.

Thursday: TDDS Technical Institute, 1688 N. Pricetown Road, Lake Milton, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Friday: Boardman Township Hall, 8229 Market St., Boardman, 1 to 6 p.m.

Monday: Blue Ribbons Rentals, 3620 Belmont Ave., Liberty, 3 to 7 p.m.; drive is on a bus.

Monday: Beaver Ruritan Club, 410 South Range Road, North Lima, 1:30 to 6:30 p.m.

June 17: Gasser Chair Co., 4136 Logan Way, Liberty, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; drive is on a bus.

The fixed-site donation center for Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties is at 57 Westchester Drive, Austintown. The center is open on Tuesdays from noon to 7 p.m.; Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Donors can walk in or call toll-free (800) 448-3542 to make an appointment.
