Two IMAX films open

PITTSBURGH — “The Alps” and “Wild Ocean,” two new IMAX films that open this weekend at Carnegie Science Center, explore the heights of Europe’s majestic mountains and the frenzy of one of nature’s greatest migration spectacles.

“The Alps” tells the story of one man’s quest to climb the North Face of the Eiger, a 6,000-foot Swiss peak.

“Wild Ocean,” a documentary, explores the interplay between humans and endangered ocean ecosystems. It highlights the feeding frenzy of billions of sardines, which travel up the KwaZulu-Natal shoreline of Africa, known to locals as the Wild Coast. For information, go to carnegiesciencecenter.org.
