Today: The Pocono 500 in Long Pond, Pa., is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m., with network television (TNT) starting its coverage at 1:30 p.m. The Hartford native will start on the outside of Row 16, alongside Reed Sorenson.

Season to date: Blaney stands 31st in the driver point standings and is just 38 behind No. 29 Robby Gordon. He’s finished in the top 20 in each of his last four races
