Qualifying: The Hartford native had his worst qualifying run since missing the field at Talladega, finishing 32nd in qualifying at Pocono Raceway Friday. Blaney’s No. 22 Toyota Caterpillar will start on the outside of Row 16, alongside Reed Sorenson. Except for the Talladega race in which he failed to qualify, this marks Blaney’s worst starting position since he went off 34th at Bristol in March.
Season to date: Blaney stands 31st in the driver point standings and is just 38 behind No. 29 Robby Gordon. He’s finished in the top 20 in each of his last four races
